Resident of Southwest Michigan who has a great passion for helping individuals, families and communities.
People can and do benefit from knowing what foods to eat in order to maintain health and wellness. Recommending healthy food choices is necessary but it does not provide a complete picture. For many, nutritional information is just too confusing.
I believe if people are taught basic nutrition and they begin to understand the connection between the food they eat and the effects it has on individual health and weight status, it can motivate and empower people to make changes in their food choices which equips individuals with the knowledge they need to shop for wholesome foods and prepare tasty meals and snacks that are within their food budget. This will have a positive effect on their lifestyle, health and wellness.
